With a degree in Foods & Nutrition, Mary Jo Gallaway has always created beautiful, nutritious and wonderfully delicious menus for her family and friends.

Her life-long interests in dietary nutrition, food selection and meal planning fueled her personal passion into a rewarding career transition by starting Kane County Microgreens with her husband, Jack. The name was changed in 2023 to Tri-County Microgreens as popularity and demand pulled them into new geographies. 

Tri-County Microgreens is an urban farm delivering fresh, clean and grown to order microgreens to residents, restaurants, and food service providers in the Kane and Tri-County, Illinois, area. They provide weekly and bi-weekly delivery services, generally within 24 hours of harvest, free of charge within their market area.

Tri-County's Fresh Sheet offerings vary, but its staples usually include Broccoli, Sunflower Shoots and Speckled Pea Shoots, Red Radish, Kale, Kohlrabi, Wasabi or Oriental Mustard, as well as a Crunchy (Basic) Micro Mix and a Spicy Micro Mix.
